Autonomous Mine Detection System (AMDS)
AMDS consists of a suite of three payload modules to be deployed on a remotely operated Man Transportable Robotic System (MTRS). Leveraging the success of hand-held mine detection technologies, incorporating wideband Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), AMDS will give the Army an unprecedented capability to detect, mark and neutralize explosive hazards at standoff in complex and urban terrain, including confined areas and subterranean environments.
Mine Detection and Marking Payload Module – remotely detects and marks surface laid and buried metallic and low-metallic antitank AT and antipersonnel AP landmines and scatterable munitions
Explosive Hazards Detection and Marking Payload Module – remotely detects and marks surface laid, partially buried and camouflaged explosive hazards
Neutralization Payload Module – remotely neutralizes surface laid, buried and camouflaged explosive hazards
