MAdoors is the premier supplier of high-energy X-ray platforms for cargo security systems. By providing the complete imaging chain, madoors x-ray scanner products can be optimized to produce the cleanest and sharpest images available. Madoors container scanning detectors are a key component in this imaging chain. Their modular design makes them scalable to the application and when necessary, each module is easily field replaceable. A number of standard and custom configurations are available.

Excellent Sensitivity. The detection system maintains incremental sensitivity to attenuation differences throughout the wide range mentioned above.
Small Element Size. The physical size of detector elements is another important determinant that contributes to spatial resolution. The narrower the detector elements‚ the finer the “sampling” of the transmitted X-ray signal and the finer the resulting image details.

Signal-to-noise Performance. The detection system processes the input signal at various stages‚ starting from conversion of input X-ray photons into light‚ conversion of light into electrical signals, and finally conversion of electrical signal strength into digital form. In the latter two stages, electronic “noise” is carefully minimized through a number of design techniques. Pulse control, reference output corrections, software imaging processing, adaptive signal thresholds, and other techniques to reduce and remove artifacts from the final images.

Penetration: Penetration is a strong function of the X-ray source. However, to fully take advantage of the penetrating power of the source, detectors with characteristics described above must be implemented.

Systems with energies below about 2.5 MeV often fail to achieve full penetration of a cargo container resulting in unviewable regions. The maximum penetration that can be expected as a function of X-ray energy is shown in the table below.
